Boost Your Mood

Increase Energy Levels

Regular physical activity is a great way to boost energy and improve mood. Current evidence clearly indicates that participation in a regular exercise program is an effective way to reduce and/or prevent a number of the functional declines associated with aging. The age related loss of muscle, often referred to as Sarcopenia, can affect daily living activities. Older adults have the ability to adapt and respond to both endurance and strength training.

Therefore an active lifestyle is more important now than ever. Regular exercise can help boost energy, maintain your independence, and manage symptoms of illness or pain. It can even reverse some of the symptoms of aging. So, offset the lose of muscle, increase your endurance, boost your mood and sharpen your memory with an exercise program that is comprehensive and effective!

Leg and hip strength using REX machine

As an ex-athlete, teacher, and coach working toward optimal health and fitness, keeping fit had always been an important part of my daily routine. As a coach, I tried to be a positive role model by being physically fit. However, with the onset of my movement disorder, Parkinson’s Disease, I became much slower, rigid, and in pain most of the time.

When I joined Baxter Fitness, I found a very positive and supportive atmosphere. Now, I am the student as I learn various techniques in dealing with the effects of Parkinson’s Disease. I have been boxing with the owner, Damon Ramshaw, since 2018. Even though my gait is slow, I find my speed, coordination, agility and balance are increased during this workout. I leave feeling less pain and with a much greater sense of well-being.

I highly recommend Medford’s Baxter Fitness due to the expert knowledge and care provided by Damon Ramshaw and his staff.
